Dark Ages Constantinople

URL: http://www.empirebesieged.com

Format: Addonchat

Location(s): Dark Ages Constantinople, year 1203. We will be using the 2nd Edition Constantinople by Night book, and its setting information found within for the Vampire venue.

Supported Venues: Mortals, Vampire, Mage-and we are seeking STs for all other venues (an additional help for these three!). We will establish any venue we can find an ST team for. This includes: Werewolf, Fae, Inquisitor, and Devil's Due.

Moderation: Moderated

Status: Active

Age Requirement: 18+

Other Information: System uses the Revised Dark Ages rules, with some notable exceptions for books like Clanbook Salubri, which are 2nd edition only. We will be looking to open all Dark Ages venues eventually, and are therefore recruiting storytellers in addition to looking for players to join us. Come check us out, we are ready to go!

Update: At the moment we have storytellers for Dark Ages Vampire, Mage, and of course-Mortal. We will be using our home at Trouble in Paradise to beta-test and get ourselves together, and eventually move on to our own chat and website. If anyone else is interested in assisting with the team, feel free to drop me a line here or find us on chat!

Update:

We have things in the works for full launch, but as malfean has said our beta testing will be taking place on Trouble in Paradise.

  • Website still under construction but near completion. SNAFU with some link coding.
  • Forums are 99% complete and the vampire and mortal team are underway posting up setting and rule info for the beta and fine tuning before full launch.
  • We have an add-on chat and avatars and icons have been uploaded. This will be available at full launch.
  • We are currently underway getting a database integrated with our chat. The progress is dubious at the moment.

Venues available for beta:
Mortal
Vampire

Notes about beta: Those players that actively participate in the beta for Empire Besieged, Dark Ages: Constantinople will have their sheets reset at full launch. Beta players will be rewarded for their help fine tuning the setting and rules before launch. Also, beta PC's should seamlessly slip into full launch, having retained what RP progression they had during the "intro SL's" of beta.

STs:
Admin - Vynier
HST Mortal - Circe
HST Vampire - Strix
HST Mage - Hubris (aka Carebear Stare)
ST Inquisitor - In discussions, will keep you updated.

The reason for my handle change, primarily, is to keep with the theme of the chat. I will be your new Mage Dark Ages storyteller. I am currently undergoing crafting of the setting, npc's and some house rules. The Mage setting should be ready for full launch.

Update:

-Beta is open for launch at our website, empirebesieged.com (and on our own chat)
-We will be allowing Vampire and Mortal submissions at the moment for the beta, and there will be a reward for players willing to launch their characters in this way. No normal xp will be given until beta is complete, likely within a month or so.
-We will be continuing to flesh out the setting as we go through the Beta, but have a number of locations and plot stuff in place.
-Characters in the Beta will be able to keep backgrounds earned from storylines.
-Feel free to log on the chat after registering, and set yourself up for a forum account. To submit a character for Beta, click on the venue forum and click on the Beta CS Submission forum, adding your sheet there.

All of us at the Empire Besieged: Dark Ages Constantinople game would like to take this opportunity to thank Trouble in Paradise, a fantastic Exalted chat-for giving us a boost while we got everything together. Thanks for the support!

-Malfean (aka Strix, Vampire HST)

AT first I was about to be Like "Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuure, This one is Sooooooo happening" and then I saw a name I could trust. Carebear Stare's name makes me think "Oh shit, time to take off my cool face and put on my seriosu face." I've had the pleasant experience of having got to work with CBS and enjoyed it. He's professional, not afraid to tell it like it is, and worked like a mule. I'm very skeptical on Dark Ages chats and their staying power (even though they're the most sought after venues on teh webz) but I KNOW CBS, and I KNOW he's a good ST.

all I can say is mmmm inquisition.

Thanks for the vote of confidence Perris, heh.

Updated Site Information:
http://www.empirebesieged.com

As things stand at this time, we are open for Beta. I was cautious to post until everything has been settled. Our chat is now standalone and is being run separately from ExaltedParadise. Chat and forums are up and functional, as well as some other neat little toys we're going to be utilizing.

Our database is a work in progress, but will integrate with our chat similarly to digi, at least that's what we're aiming for. For beta, we decided to keep sheets on the forums as there will be a reset at the end of our beta test.

I'll be unveiling a wikipage for people to post information publicly about their characters, setting, etc. We wanted the site to be interesting, without being too complicated.

I'd also like to take the time to thank everyone involved in getting this site off the ground...This includes a special thanks to Dy from Exalted Paradise and Cyn from SdM for their heavy support and helpfulness in answering my 1001 addonchat questions.

We hope that you'll join us for Dark Ages: Constantinople!

I'm still not convinced this is any more than an elaborate ruse to get Michael's hopes up before savagely dashing them on the rocks of disappointment.
That in itself is a noble goal, though, so it gets my approval.

We would like to welcome Hyperion, our new HST for the Werewolf Venue.

Hyperion comes to us with 15 years of experience in online Storytelling and an impressive grasp of Werewolf and Fera. His setting information is already forming up to be amazing, so we look forward to the opening of Werewolf when beta closes. :cute:

Well, sorry to say-we aren't in the business of ruining Michael's dreams! We've got quite a few sanctioned Vampire PCs and with both a Mage and Werewolf venue opening up soon, I can only hope we'll continue to attract attention and get players.

While this may seem like an elaborate ruse given how hard it is to get an active DA chat, I'd say come check us out! We'd love to have more visitors :).
