Had my fuckiing account stolen. The little bastard stripped me and stole all my gear! I was pretty pissed but I could not get through to IT to get help. Ever tried to call Blizzard's tech support? Yeah NO . I tried to email them...the little Chinese bastard had got a hold of my gmail account as well so no go. I had my husband kick me from our guild the second i found out so the little shit could not empty our bank. Two weeks TWO FUCKING WEEKS go by I can not get into my email OR get through on the phone. Someone in my guild saw "me" running around farming and called my hubby on his cell. Said guildmate then put in a ticket for me and explained to a GM that I had been hacked.

I got my email account back (after much painful dealings with Google including walking into their office) and Blizzard froze my account and sent me a reset email. Yesterday I got a restore of not everything the little shit had sold but ALL the crap he had gathered and sold on the AH PLUS all the gold he had earned on all my toons. So while it sucked balls that someone stole my account in the end i came out with nearly 20k in gold AND all my sehit back *cackles* FUCK YOU YA CHINESE HACKING COCK SUPER!


P.S. I know (ok I think) it was a Chinese hacker because my gmail reported the IP address that was used when snagging my email and China is the country of origin for the IP that was runnin about in my toon.

I don't think of people in terms of Chinese or American.

There has been a lot of hacking lately, several people I know have had it happen. Blizzard now has code generation authenticators, which help some. Paypal and eBay have jumped on that as well.

The authenticators work only if you keep your flash player up to date, because hackers can use a crack in Flash Player 9 to break through even if you have an authenticator. Just happened to a friend of mine who has an authenticator.

I personally bought a physical authenticator for my WoW account. After being hacked and having my guild bank destroyed I thought the $6.50 was worth it. I don't know how this could be broken by a flash hack as it's an actual keychain fob that provides a code that is good for 15 minutes.

The hack to flash player let's the hacker have direct access to WoW through a hole in WoW's programming. I honestly don't know too much about the ins and outs of what happens when they do it, but it happens, and has happened. After seeing a few friends of mine hacked through the Flash Player leak, and not from keyloggers, I went and directly updated Flash Player, which I recommend. It is still not a super widely known, or used means to hack into WoW accounts, but it was growing rapidly before 10 came out.

Edit: I know what the product is. I have had it for about 2 years now, since I was hacked due to a keylogger on my old desktop. I have always and will always tout the physical authenticator, as the mobile app is quite hackable, and is only good while you wait on the physical one. (I wish I got the core hound one, I only have the boring, straight Blizzard one.)

Three of my pals got mad hacked. Blizz gave us everything back and refiled our GB.
