Reviews and discussion of Mythril Falls.

Setting: Greyhawk D&D Guild city that has been built in an old Caldera on the side of the mountain where a great lake has formed. The city takes its name from the great Mythril veins being mined under the city by the dwarf clans, and also the Huge waterfall coming down from the top of the extinct volcano which runs through the city.

Chat Platform: DigiChat

Age Requirement: 14+ Though we have very few young folks playing on the chat we realize that some times they do come in and so we ask everyone to keep the adult language from being to uncensered.

Mythril Falls

we are a new chat in the D&D 3.5 system we are fuly operational, with constant upgrades and full player support. we have a decent player base and several DM's so there is usually something going on. so please check us out and tell us what you think. :D

First, this is a 3.5 D&D chat dedicated to fair and honest roleplaying. We, the DMs, feel that too many D&D chats have been run through favoritism, metagaming, and passive spite. Mythril Falls is welcome to all who are looking for a fresh start or just for a good honest place to roleplay. Please feel free to join us and make a home here playing. We the DMs are more than dedicated to making this the best D&D chat on the net.

Our number one rule for DM's is that Without the players you aint shit. We have a solid team that runs pretty much nightly. A VERY SOLID player base that is growing by leaps and bounds daily.

We have a few things that we are still working on. We started as nothing more then a group of friends who love role playing and want to share that love with as many folks as possible. Most of the DM's are decently experienced and have DMed on several other chats before. SO PLEASE CHECK US OUT.

4) The DM team reserves the right to disallow anyone from playing certain aspects of the game, or to limit them to best suit interaction with fellow players and the chat's needs. Don't worry, we won't make you play a fighter if we have three bazillion rogues and wizards, however, in past cases we have seen classes run into the ground by people who did the class no justice, and refused to play anything else. In rare cases, you may find this enforced, but we'll let you know there's could be an issue well before any actual action needs to take place.

Could you please tell me I'm not reading what I think I'm reading...

this is from the Terms of Service by those who may be wondering.

Well, that depends on what you think you're reading - to me, it sounds as though they may be employing caps on classes, which is nothing new in online gaming. If you have too many fighters and not enough clerics, eventually you put a cap on the fighters until the class balance evens out.

Also, I added some lines to the first post - WW, if you could edit that post at some point and fill in the missing pieces (or delete ones that may not be appplicable), that would be great! At the least, knowing the chat's age requirement (if any) is helpful to prospective players.

as far as the capping rule. as Starshadow says we can cap classes if need be. we also reserve the right if a player is playing inappropriately, breaking rules, and/or abusing players/DM's one course of action can be (but not limited to) restricting classes for a player. as with banning and other methods it would not be done lightly, but we do give our DM team that option. if you have further questions about this or other rules feel free to post here or ask Warjack or Eien as they are our head DM's
i hope that answers your question satisfactorily.

What does "playing inappropriately" mean, exactly?

Please avoid ambiguity regarding what you consider to be inappropriate, as it is now the rule looks to me like you'd be telling people how to play their characters.

One would assume that it means that characters who violate the tenets of their Class, Religion, or what have you will be given the same treatment that a tabletopper would.

You violate the Paladinic Code, for example, you -will- lose access to your abilities. You bitch, throw a fit, or otherwise show your inability to grasp the concept of the Class your playing, guess what? You lose it.

Hell Billy is right. And this is not somthing that we will easily or quickly. This is somthing that if we (the DM's ) see that you playing a certian kind of class or race is giving all of them a problem or ishuesthen we will remove your ability to play them. Basicly its somthing for the welfare of the chat.

I must say we have had a fantastic first 6 months (i think we are actually working on month 7 or so now but hey who is counting besides me?). Mythril Falls was started as a place of equality and fun. Where crazy admins and Chat owners who never touched the game didnt run rough shod over the DM team who was making there chat a success. And i believe for the most part we have succeeded. Of course there is always those that are unhappy no matter how you try or you dont know about to try for. For those folks in the latter I am sorry. For the others. WELL we tried. Also with this when we started the chat none of us had run one before so it has been an extremely intersting learning experience. Alot for myself and for others I am sure. We have taken these lessons learned and in a sit down where most of the DM team talked in person about where we wanted the chat to go and how we wanted to straighten out and change a few things. So to say the least i am pretty excited about where we are going. We went from a few folks without a clue and alot of luck opening a chat to some guys with a bit of luck and a few clues getting wrinkles ironed out.

Right now we have had a major influx of new folks to the chat so once again I would encourage any and all to come and join us. We are always on the look out for talanted souls to DM as well as just plain PLAY and have fun.

Feel free to swing by and check us out and hit us up with any questions.

Thanks RPGsoapbox and thank you
